OVERVIEW:

The Maritime Provinces Water and Wastewater Association (MPWWA) will annually hand out two bursaries in the amount of $1000 each. We will award the bursaries to students who live in one of the four provinces we represent. Since the Maritime Provinces Water and Wastewater Association is a training provider, we want to provide financial help to those furthering their education.

ELIGIBILITY:

To qualify for this bursary, you must meet all the conditions listed below:

• Be a member of the MPWWA or have a parent, grandparent or guardian who is a member in good standing of the MPWWA.
• Must be enrolled in a degree, diploma or certificate program at a recognized post-secondary educational institution.
• Bursaries awarded must be used in a program which starts or continues in the year awarded.
• A completed application form (download PDF here) or Online Application including a written short essay (no longer than 1 page) indicating who you are, what you are planning on taking, and where you hope to see yourself working in the future. Please include any correlation your future work may have in the drinking water/wastewater industry or the everyday impacts this industry may have had in your life. Please submit this essay along with the application form to be considered for this bursary.
• Essays can be submitted online as DOC DOCX or PDF format files.

Selection:

• Selection will be based on the principle of open and equal opportunity and carried out by the Educational Bursary Committee. Their decision will be final.  The award winners will be announced July 16, 2024.
  
• Winners will have their picture published in the MPWWR, a newspaper available quarterly and, where possible, their local newspaper.
• Cheques will be made payable to the winner of the bursary plus the educational institution they have chosen. The cheque will be sent to the winner’s school.
